I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. I have the ability to really hit the ground running - go full steam ahead...and then get sidetracked by the taunting shortcut. The past few days have been full of lots of delicious treats. Ice cream, yummy Belgian beer, cheese, etc... Oh boy...not good my friends.
So, I am asking you...aside from the WW meetings, Wii Fit, visual weight loss tracking system, water system and this blog...what else can I do to make myself more accountable? I need some suggestions friends. I learned today that the gym I want to join is possibly waiving their membership fee...if that is that case I am there to sign up tomorrow. I really want to join this gym - I think it is one of the best in Chicago. If you aren't familiar with it check it out http://galterlifecenter.org/general/about.html I have a few friends who are members and one who is personal trainer there. I really like their approach to health, the facility is very nice and the people are not pretentious. The cost is a bit more than what comfortably fits into our budget, but I think it would be funds well spent. Do you have a gym in Chicago that you love going to? If so, tell me about it :)

Just get back on the horse and don't look back. Life without yummy Belgian beer is not a life at all.
I remember reading a book about why French women are not fat that said basically, it's because they just use common sense. If they have a chocolate croissant for breakfast, then they have a light salad for lunch. That and they move more - not through exercise programs but through the nature of their lifestyles. They walk a lot.
Tomorrow is Monday. A new week. Wipe the slate clean and start again. You can do it.

As soon as you find yourself faltering, try to reign yourself in. You don't have to wait for another day, just start eating healthier the next minute. I don't say eating "good" because I don't feel there is any "bad" food. There is just healthier choices. If you deny yourself something you are craving, you are going to binge. Give yourself a taste then wait. That might stop you from binging if you give yourself the taste.
I wish I could tell you what else you can do, but I don't have any easy answers. I've just been repeating to myself "I have control over what I eat" or "Whatever it takes, I'll do it". It does seem to be helping.
I don't know that gym. While I grew up not far from that hospital, I left that neighborhood back in 1988. It wasn't around then as far as I remember. Hopefully you will be able to join for the price you want.
I'm no longer living in Chicago, I'm about 60 miles south of Chicago, in Kankakee. So I can't give you an advice about gyms. Good luck!
